Porcelain Doll: Glass Skin Makeup

This is my rendition of the Porcelain Doll Margiela look from couture fashion week created by Pat McGrath.

Maison Margiela showcased its Artisanal 2024 Collection by John Galliano .The shows pristine porcelain doll makeup looks debuted across the runway at Paris Fashion Week with models showcasing variations of the retro-esque pastel eyeshadow, pencil-thin brows and shimmering glass skin deliberately chosen to complement Galliano's collection.

McGrath and her team used the following products to craft the porcelain doll makeup, Pat McGrath Labs :Divine Skin in Rose 001™ The Essence, Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation, Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Concealer, Mothership I: Subliminal ‘BLITZ BLUE’ & ‘XTREME BLACK’, Mothership VI: Midnight Sun ‘BLITZ VIOLET ORCHID’ & ‘XTREME DUSK’, MTHRSHP Mega: Celestial Nirvana ‘DESERT DIVINITY’, Divine Blush: Legendary Glow Colour Balm, PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil ‘XTREME BLACK’, and MatteTrance Lipstick ‘GUINEVERE’.

How did Pat McGrath do the Margiela makeup?

“We mixed together so many different products; it was a real scientific work in progress,” McGrath said on the Live stream. To achieve that waxy finish, the artist sprayed on eight layers of the mixture (freeman cucumber peel off mask diluted with distilled water) using an airbrush tool, drying each layer with a blow dryer before applying the next.

Why is Maison Margiela so popular?

Maison Margiela is known for its use of unconventional materials and reinterpretation of classic garments. The brand's design team is known for their ability to take traditional materials and give them a new, modern twist.
